Church of Peace in Swidnica

The Holy Trinity Church of Peace in Swidnica is a historic religious structure constructed in accordance with the terms of the Treaty of Westphalia, which was signed in 1648 and put an end to the Thirty Years' War. It was erected in the half-timbered technique, based on a wooden skeleton filled with clay and straw. It is the biggest wooden Baroque temple in Europe. It is the property of the Polish Evangelical-Augsburg Church's Swidnica parish. The building has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2001 and is called one of the seven new wonders of Poland by "National Geographic" magazine.
